Dear Parents

A special word of congratulations for all of our pupils throughout last week and this week.

Our Advent celebration, led by P3, was a very spiritual and uplifting experience. All of the pupils participated in a very reverent way. We have many budding stars who showed their talents in:

·        ‘It’s a Baby’

·       Christmas Assembly

·       Sheik, Rattle & Roll

·       Carol Singing

All of the children will take part in a ‘Carol Party’ on the last day of term, where everyone will enjoy carols and Christmas music.

School Fair

Many thanks to all of the helpers, parents and staff. Thanks to the Parent Council Sub-Group for all their efforts. As a result of everyone’s hard work, over £3,000 was raised. Well done!

Ted Brack

We say a fond farewell to Ted Brack former Head Teacher of St John’s for 24 years. He left us in 2004 to take up a post at Headquarters. At this time, he was presented with many cards and gifts from the pupils, staff and parents of St John’s. He now officially retires at the end of next week. He has devoted many years of his life teaching in Catholic schools and being involved in the wider life of Catholic education. There will be a retirement celebration on Monday at the East Neighbourhood Office which members of the Authority and the school community will attend. I am sure you will join us in wishing him a very long and happy retirement.

Back Pack Project – In Aid of Mary’s Meals…

We have had a great response to the Back Pack Appeal. We have collected 77 so far, we would like to hit a target of 100 by the end of next week! We know that a lot of people are in the process of bringing them in, so please help us reach our target. We will continue with this appeal after the Christmas holiday, our ultimate goal is to collect 200 Back Packs. This is a fantastic cause and really makes a diference to underprivileged children, so please help us reach our goal. Many thanks.

Many thanks for your continued support and co-operation.
