Congratulations to our Gifted and Talented pupils, Calum Patterson, Rebecca Dunney, Claire Sweeney, Flora Dick and George Watson who were awarded merit certificates in French following a 9 week programme run by the Holy Rood Modern Languages Department. Well done , c?est magnifique!
Update on our Marathon Runners?
Mrs Hughes (P1a & P1b) and Mrs Laura Tweedie?s runs are completed but you can still sponsor them all as Mrs Misselbrook has still to take part in the Moonwalk on Saturday 16th June. If you would like to support them in their fundraising efforts please put your donation in an envelope marked ?Marathon? and all the money raised will be shared between them all.
HELP NEEDED ? SCHOOL FAIR
St John?s PTA desperately needs your
help in running the Summer School Fair on Saturday 9th June. They need help with:
? Volunteers to set up on Friday 8th June
? Volunteers to help out on Saturday 9th June
Donations required are:
? Tombola Gifts (bottles, cans, boxed items)
? New children?s toys for child?s tombola
? Home baking
? Books
? Nearly new uniforms
You will have received by now raffle tickets, could you please send the money along with the raffle ticket stub in a sealed envelope back to your child?s teacher.
New Beginnings?P1 August
Inductions for pupils joining P1 in August, will take place in the school on Monday morning and Wednesday morning of next week.
Parent Forum Meeting
A reminder that there will be a meeting of the Parent Forum here in school on Thursday 14th June at 7.30pm.
Congratulations???
Congratulations to all those who have now celebrated 1st Communion and Confirmation in St John?s Parish. Sincere thanks to Julie Collins and her team who guided the children so skillfully through the process. Many thanks also to Mrs Plews and Mrs Rennie for all their hard work in preparing the children. Best wishes to the two remaining children who will celebrate these sacraments in St Mary Magdalene?s Church at 10.00am Mass this Sunday.

Good luck to our P5, P6 & P7 pupils who will be competing in the Interscholastics Sports at Meadowbank Stadium on Tuesday.

Sports days (weather permitting) will be:
Tuesday 12th June - Infant Sports (morning)
Tuesday 12th June - Upper Sports (afternoon)
Monday 25th June - Nursery Sports Day.

Thursday P1?s East Links Farm, Dunbar
Musical Stars???
Our P5, P6 & P7 Violinists and Brass players demonstrated their confidence and musical skills on Wednesday evening at Portobello Town Hall. Well done to all the children concerned. As part of the Duddingston Area Orchestra, they provided an enjoyable and entertaining evening of music.
