Congratulations to all who celebrated 1st Communion and Confirmation on Sunday and best wishes to 17th the next group who will do so on Sunday 27th May.


PTA Educational Evening
A reminder about the Educational Evening to be hosted by the PTA on Monday 28th May, 7.00pm ? 8.30pm. Come along and hear about the ground breaking work being carried out in PE by St John?s staff and Edinburgh University.


Smile, Say Cheese???.
The school photographer will be in school on Wednesday 30th June to take group pictures of the P1?s and the P7?s. Details of costs will follow soon.


HELP NEEDED ? SCHOOL FAIR
St John?s PTA desperately needs your
help in running the Summer School Fair on Saturday 9th June. They need help with:
? Volunteers to set up on Friday 8th June
? Volunteers to help out on Saturday 9th June

Donations required are:
? Tombola Gifts (bottles, cans, boxed items)
? New children?s toys for child?s tombola
? Home baking
? Books
? Nearly new uniforms

St John?s Quilt
Do you remember last year pupils all decorated a small square for a quilt? It is now nearly finished, but we need some help to get it completed by the end of term. So if you are nifty with a needle, please come to the ICT Huts on Fridays at 9.00am and help out. We really need your help to complete all the hard work that has already been done..




Marathon Madness??????
Mrs Hughes (P1a & P1b) will be running the Edinburgh marathon on Sunday 27th May, Mrs Laura Tweedie will also be running in the Edinburgh marathon and Mrs Misselbrook will be walking the Moonwalk marathon on Saturday 16th June. If you would like to support them in their fundraising efforts please put your donation in an envelope marked ?Marathon? and all the money raised will be shared between them all.


Duddingston Area Concert
Our pupils who play the violin, the trumpet and trombone will take part in the Duddingston Area Concert at Portobello Town Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday 30th May. Tickets are available from the school office, prices Adults £2 and £1 for children and concessions. Come along and enjoy an evening of musical entertainment!

Parent Forum Meeting
A reminder that there will be a meeting of the Parent Forum here in school on Thursday 14th June at 7.30pm.

Advance Notice? Sports Days
Sports days (weather permitting) will be:

Tuesday 12th June - Infant Sports (morning)
Tuesday 12th June - Upper Sports (afternoon)
Monday 25th June - Nursery Sports Day.
