Barnardo?s Sponsor Money
To date we have raised £1,758.80 for Barnardo?s, well done everyone! A wee reminder that if anyone still has their sponsor money please hand it in as soon as possible.

Twende Pamoja Trust
You are warmly invited to an exciting event hosted by the Twende Pamoja Trust which supports St John?s relationship with Legho Primary in Tanzania.

?Twende Pamoja? ? ?Let Us Walk Together?

Twende Pamoja are organising an African Evening to be held in Holy Rood High School on Tuesday 24th April from 7.30 ? 9.00pm.

Come along to see a colourful and exciting performance by a troupe of Masai warriors from Kenya. The troupe will also be performing for pupils in the Holy Rood cluster schools throughout the week.

Watch a film of the Cardinal?s summer visit to Tanzania when he blessed the blossoming relationships between 3 of our cluster primary schools and schools in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania:

? St John?s PS and Legho PS
? St John Vianney PS and Mulo PS
? St Francis PS and Lasso PS

Enjoy refreshments in an ?African? atmosphere while you browse round arts and crafts stalls. Tickets, which will be available from the school office, are FREE and there will be an opportunity to make donations on the night.

P3 Children ? Reconciliation Service
We would like send our best wishes to all the P3 Children who are celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 7.00pm in St John?s Church on Monday 26th March.

Basic Moves After School Club
The Club is now well into its second term and is fully subscribed again. The children who take part enjoy the sessions and eagerly participate in a range of activities to develop their skills in running, throwing, balancing ...... and games. We are looking forward to the summer term and hope to get outside for some of the sessions.

We would welcome extra help from parents with an interest in PE or gym ? or just in keeping the children active and healthy. It would be great to have other parents around to help set up apparatus and encourage the children with their activities. The club runs for an hour on a Thursday afternoon ( 3.15pm to 4.15pm) as and when you are available ? we are not necessarily looking for a commitment every week.

We may have funding available next year to train more parents interested in becoming more involved.

Anyone, interested, please call Ann 0131 657 9146 or Alison 0131 657 4666 ... or come along one Thursday afternoon.

P6 Drama Work
If you read the most recent issue of the Portobello Reporter you will have noted that our P6 pupils have been working on the novel ?Kidnapped? by Robert Louis Stevenson. They have been interpreting the storyline through Drama, guided by Mrs Cerin Richardson, Principal Development Officer for Expressive Arts. The children have decided they would like to share the work they have been doing, at one of our Friday morning assemblies on the last day of term, 30th March. Any P6 parents who would like to join us for this exciting event would be most welcome. Please send your name into the class teachers, Miss McErlain or Mr Burgess if you are able to come along from 9.45 till 10.30am.

Many thanks for your continued support and
co-operation.
