Ball Throwing Study at Edinburgh University
Please help all 5, 7 & 8 year olds. We still require more children to come up to Edinburgh University to take part in the research study on Throwing. It would involve one visit to the lab for 1 ? 2 hours approximately. If you require more information please call 0131 651 6002 and ask for Jan McIntyre.

Note from PC Willie Rennie re Parking??.
I have received several complaints in the run up to the festive period regarding parents parking their vehicles inconsiderately when dropping off/picking up their children from the school.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that inconsiderate double parking and parking on zig zag lines increases the risk of a child being struck and injured in a vehicle accident.

Whilst speaking to parents regarding this, the most common excuse I receive is 'I was only there for thirty seconds'. I would like to point out that even one second parked in a manner that poses danger to children is unacceptable and should no longer occur. I am keen to ensure the safety of all the children at the school and stop any child being injured as a result of a preventable accident, therefore with immediate effect I will be patrolling outside the school at peak times along with my colleagues from the Police Traffic Warden Section and will take the necessary enforcement action when required.

Should you have any queries regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact me at Portobello Police Station on 0131 669 0581 or at willie.rennie@lbp.pnn.police.uk.
