Dear Parents,
Consultation on site options for the new school are attached to this newsletter. I attended a meeting in the City Chambers yesterday and was given correspondence to pass onto parents. Option A (a rebuild within the existing Portobello High School Site) is the preferred location. Mr Jobson, Director of Children & Families will be recommending this to the Council at the meeting on the 21st December, more details are contained in the attached letter.
On a separate matter, once again I must appeal to you to help us improve the safety and security of the pupils in our school. During the week, we experienced some very inclement weather. Parents were asked to sign in and out if they entered the school building from 8.40am onwards. This is to ensure that the office staff are fully aware of how many parents or visitors are in the building.
Pupils were asked to hang up their coats and bags and make their way to the hall. We have 400 children in the school and to ensure their safety, it is impossible to have parents in the corridors and the hall on wet mornings. Whilst some parents may perceive this as an inconvenience, it is important that all of the children are safe. Most parents comply with this request and I would like to thank you for your co-operation.
Primary 1a & 1b
