Dear Parents,
A very big thank you to all the PTA members, parents and staff who supported our Annual Christmas Fair.
It was lovely to see so many people enjoying all of the Christmas Activities on Saturday morning. At the time of writing, I do not have a final total, but I will inform you of the amount raised as soon as I have it. Stop the press?..total raised £1,485! Well done.
Parents Forum
East Neighbourhood
A meeting will be held on January 22nd 2007 at 7.00pm in Portobello High School. We are asked to send up to 6 representatives from St John?s, 2 from the School Board, 2 from the PTA and 2 other parents. Please contact me if you are interested. It is important that we are well represented.
End of Term
School finishes for the Christmas holidays at 12.00 noon on Thursday 21st December.
Front Garden Tidy Up
The Council have been instrumental in pruning the bushes and trees at the front of the main entrance to the school.
The forestry commission will also make a visit to ascertain whether one of our trees will have to be dug out. Anyone who has a talent for gardening and would like to help in the garden please let the office staff know.
Photocopier
Apologies for the lack of newsletter last week, we are experiencing problems with our photocopier.
PE Kit
I would like to encourage children to wear appropriate PE Kit on gym days. Its lovely to see pupils in their house tee-shirts and shorts.
P1 Nativity
?Whoops-a-Daisy Angel?
This takes place on the 12th December at 2.00pm in the school hall. Parents and visitors should sign in at the school office from 1.40pm, please do not arrive before this time as unfortunately there is no where within the school to wait. The children are all looking forward to performing.
Shoe Biz Appeal
This appeal is continuing. So far we have collected 159 pairs of shoes!
Feast of the Immaculate Conception
Friday December 8th
Congratulations to all the boys and girls who were fantastically well behaved at our Mass this morning. We presented Canon Rae with a Bay Tree in a pot in celebration of his 80th Birthday. Ryan Agate (P7) & Katie (P1a) presented him with his gift.
Many thanks for your continued support and
co-operation.
