Dear Parents

The children took part in the ?Song for Peace? on Thursday at 12 noon. This was taking place all over the UK and all pupils sang the ?Anthem for Peace ? No Wars will stop us singing?. Bill and Ian, our Lollipop men, have captured the moment with an aerial photograph. In addition the pupils waved celtic symbols of peace. We were also blessed with lovely warm weather. It was a very special occasion and one which we wish to repeat on an annual basis.

New Beginnings Mass
A little reminder that this will take place on Monday 25th September for all of the pupils and staff at St John?s Church at 10.00am. Parents are most welcome to join us in our celebrations. Pupils will walk to and from the church with staff.

Health Promoting Schools
New parents may not be aware that there are bike racks situated behind the hall extension. If your child wishes to cycle to school, they may secure their bike to the racks with a padlock.

Lines
A big well done to all the pupils in P1, P2 & P3 who are trying so hard to come into school, in an orderly fashion. The lines are continually improving.

Also good to see that parents are stepping back and encouraging their children to become more independent. Thank you for your co-operation.

Councillor Andrew Burns
Councillor Burns will visit the school on Friday 29th September, to discuss the new school proposals.

Violin Teacher
Our new violin teacher Ms Kirsty Orton, will soon be able to begin teaching P5-P7 pupils. Ms Orton has been very busy testing our new P4 pupils, for the start of term.
