18 Aug 2006 - St John's Newsletter

Dear Parents
It gives me great pleasure as the new permanent Head Teacher of St John?s to welcome back all of our pupils, staff and parents back to school. I am very happy to take over officially. A very special welcome to our new primary 1 pupils. All the pupils have started off the session well and are looking particularly smart in their school uniform. Well done! We are all going to make a concerted effort to continue with this.

The staff team have been extremely busy over the past few days in preparation for today. Clear expectations about standards of work and behaviour have been shared with pupils. The changes to the lines are working really well.

Parents are asked to send school lunch money in with their child to the class teacher for the week on a Monday in a sealed envelope marked with their child?s name and class, and marked as ?school lunch money?. If parents wish to apply for free school meals for their child, application forms and information on qualifying criteria are available from the school office. There is a dinner menu enclosed with the newsletter.

Milk Money
Pupils may take milk in school. The cost of school milk is £16.80 for the whole session or £6.80 for Term 1 and £5.00 for each of Term 2 and Term 3. Again when paying milk money, parents should send the required amount of money into school with their child in a sealed envelope marked with their child?s name and class, marked as ?milk money? to the class teacher. Children who qualify for free school meals also qualify for free milk.

If you would like your child to receive milk this term (Term 1) please could you send this into school by Thursday 24th August. Please note children do not receive milk until the Monday after they have paid.
